Carry The Load is built on more than events or fundraising, it is driven by a clear mission and vision that shape how we serve, remember, and support those affected by service. These principles guide our actions and keep our work focused on lasting impact.
Carry the Load provides active ways to honor and remember our nation’s heroes by connecting Americans to the sacrifices made by our military, veterans, first responders, and their families.
Since 2011, Carry The Load has raised $50.1M to support those who have bravely sacrificed for our country. Ninety-three percent of every dollar raised goes directly to our programs and makes a direct impact in the military and first responder communities.

Chief Operating Officer
Kathie Wood serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Carry The Load, where she passionately leads initiatives to honor and remember our nation's heroes. With a wealth of experience and a genuine commitment to the cause, Kathie works to ensure that Carry The Load's mission resonates across communities nationwide. Kathie holds a BS from UT Southwestern Medical School of Allied Health and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University. Prior to joining Carry The Load, Kathie made a significant impact at Ursuline Academy of Dallas, dedicating years to fostering growth and community engagement. Kathie is supported by her loving family.
