October is Economic and Community Development Month. This is the time of year clubs focus on how we give back to Rotary using our vocations to support our economy and communities.

Dallas ISD Bond Proposal
On November 3rd, Dallas voters will vote on a nearly $3.7 billion Dallas ISD bond package.
 
The package would touch nearly every building in the state’s second-largest school district over the next decade, with over $1.9 billion allocated for modernizations and renovations. Ten new facilities and 14 replacement campuses would be constructed, at a cost of $1.1 billion.
 
The last three bonds issued by Dallas have all been in excess of $1 billion: $1.6 billion in 2015, $1.366 billion in 2008 and $1.35 billion in 2002.

Greatest Needs Now
We all know that the number of families assisted by Metrocrest Services has skyrocketed and there is real continuing unmet need in our community. The Pantry has just updated their critical needs Wish List on Amazon!
 
The Addison Midday Rotary Club is sponsoring a virtual food drive, Oct first through the tenth.
 
To donate, click the Amazon link below and have the products shipped directly to the Metrocrest Services Warehouse! You will notice there are many personal hygiene items on this list - items that Metrocrest Services does not receive from other agencies.
 
Take a few minutes to help fill the warehouse today!

The Addison Midday Rotary Club returned to May Dragon on August 4.
