Midday News for AMRC V11 N37 For April 13
Rotary Monthly Theme - April

April is Maternal and Child Health Month - Every day mothers risk their lives giving birth and millions of children die each year from treatable, preventable causes. At least 7 million children under the age of five die each year due to malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation. To help reduce this rate, we provide immunizations and antibiotics to babies, improve access to essential medical services, and support trained health care providers for mothers and their children. Your Rotary projects ensure sustainability by empowering the local community to take ownership of health care training programs.
April 13 Meeting - Water for Addison
April 13
Terry Lowery, Director of Dallas Water Utilities
Where Addison Gets its Water

Addison gets its water from the Dallas Water Utilities (DWU), a non-profit City of Dallas department that provides services to the city of Dallas and 31 nearby communities, including Addiosn

DWU currently obtains water from area reservoirs: Lake Ray Hubbard, Lake Lewisville, Lake Grapevine, Lake Ray Roberts and Lake Tawakoni. DWU plans to use Lake Fork and Lake Palestine in the future when water demands increase.
