April is Maternal and Child Health Month

Every day mothers risk their lives giving birth and millions of children die each year from treatable, preventable causes. At least 7 million children under the age of five die each year due to malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation. To help reduce this rate, Rotary provides immunizations and antibiotics to babies, improves access to essential medical services, and supports trained health care providers for mothers and their children. Rotary’s projects ensure sustainability by empowering the local community to take ownership of health care training programs.

Flag Schedule for Labor Day
We need volunteers to set out and pick up flags.  Friday/Saturday May 22, 23 and May 29,30

We can break into smaller routes if needed.

We can try Caravans.  Ben and Virginia have volunteered to drive behind Al, and put the flags in Al's van at the storage unit and put out the flags in Addison East.  Al will never get out of the van.

Ivan and Wanda have volunteered to drive another route - someone is needed to put out the flags.

Dean volunteered to drive one weekend.

Phyllis and Ray have volunteered to drive one weekend.

We need drivers and workers for at least three routes each week.  We do not want to put anyone at risk, so the caravan idea may be a good strategy.

As an alternative we can break the routes into smaller routes that can be picked up and put into one vehicle - may 15 flags.

We also need a coordinator - Mary Jo is unavailable after May 5.

Please let us know your availability to work or drive on each weekend.  And if Friday or Saturday works best for you.  Please commit!
